Hiking trails

Whether it's a short walk, an easy hike, or an alpine mountain tour - the Mamauwiese is your ideal starting point or destination.

The extensive alpine pastures, traversed by small paths are ideal for the small "digestive walk" in the afternoon - with a wonderful panorama view of the Schneeberg.
A bit more appetizing is a hike over a small saddle to Losenheim, from where you can get to "der Faden” with the Salamanderessellift. At the end of "der Faden”, next to the Edelweiss hut, you will return to the Mamau via the "Dürre Letin” or the "Römerstraße”
Duration approx. 2.5 hours
Blick von der Dürrenleitn In the other direction, you reach the Schoberalm after 30 minutes, from where you can reach the Öhler via the Illmitzerweg. After a small break in the Öhlerschutzhaus, you will be back across the romantic Öhlerwände and the Schoberberg over the HansLinhardSteig.
Duration approx. 3 hours
The Schneeberg is always a challenge. Cross the "Dürre Leitn” or the Römerstraße to the Fadenalm. Behind the Sparbacherhütte is the entrance into the "Fadensteig”. A narrow climb leads along the steep road to the summit cross to 2076 meters. Duration approx. 4 hours

If you choose the Mamauwiese as the destination of your hike, you have some options to choose from:

From Puchberg via the Römerweg (long road) 1,5 hrs.
From Losenheim valley station Salamandersesselbahn 45 Min.
